Message from BLES Administration

  • February Families' Letter

    Dear Esteemed BLES Families,

As we move through this frigid February winter, I want to remind our families how important daily attendance is for our scholars. Every day truly counts. Our dedicated staff is planning and teaching engaging, rigorous, and meaningful lessons that support your child’s growth and success. Thank you for ensuring your scholar is on time and present.

Our Interim Assessments are now completed, and you should have received a Progress Report on January 30, 2026. Please reach out to your scholar’s teacher—or let me know directly—if you did not receive the Progress Report so we can ensure you have the most up-to-date information regarding your child’s academic progress. We will shortly also be sending out Promotion-In-Doubt letters to scholars who may qualify for an additional year of learning.

As we enter Black History Month (BHM), we look forward to celebrating the rich history, contributions, and achievements of Black leaders, innovators, and communities. Our scholars will engage in meaningful learning experiences that honor this important month and deepen their understanding of history. You are also invited to share in this learning at home — here is a video you can watch with your scholar to help kick off Black History Month:
