Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School Mission Statement

At Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School, scholars will be empowered to have choice in how they learn and voice in what they learn. We will provide innovative, individualized instruction that addresses scholar's unique learning styles, cultivates, independent thought, promotes the building of character and enables students to contribute their ideas locally and globally . The Brooklyn Landmark experience  will guide our scholars as they develop their sense of identity and purpose in this world.  We will comprehensively develop citizens who will be decision makers in tomorrow's society.  The Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School scholars will inspire greatness in others, allow their voices to be heard worldwide and create change through their actions and endeavors.  By giving our scholars a choice in how they learn and a voice in what they learn, we are building the foundation of critical thinkers that is needed in the best colleges and the 21st Century workplace.

  • DECEMBER Update

    Happy December BLES families!

I truly hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with your loved ones!

December is a very festive and exciting month for our scholars but we will remain laser focused on academic progress. Every day this month, our scholars will learn and practice using various reading, writing and math skills. It is imperative that our scholars come to school every day and on time. Instruction begins as soon as they enter the classroom at 8:00 am. We teach our scholars the following- to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late and to be late is unacceptable.

Arriving at school on time must become a habit, just as going to bed at the same time every night and setting aside time to complete homework every afternoon must become a habit. These are practices that we want our scholars to maintain as they move on to high school, college, careers and beyond. BLES families, you are doing an outstanding job with getting the scholars to school every day. Our average attendance percentage is over 90% for every grade level! Keep up the great work! Now, let's please work on getting the scholars to school by 8:00 am every day.  Don't forget that doors open at 7:30 am daily for breakfast. CHAMPS fitness and our grade 2 Early Bird programs are starting the first week in December. Please reach out to your child's Attendance Success Mentor if you have questions or concerns regarding the 8:00 am arrival time.
