Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School Mission Statement

At Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School, scholars will be empowered to have choice in how they learn and voice in what they learn. We will provide innovative, individualized instruction that addresses scholar's unique learning styles, cultivates, independent thought, promotes the building of character and enables students to contribute their ideas locally and globally . The Brooklyn Landmark experience  will guide our scholars as they develop their sense of identity and purpose in this world.  We will comprehensively develop citizens who will be decision makers in tomorrow's society.  The Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School scholars will inspire greatness in others, allow their voices to be heard worldwide and create change through their actions and endeavors.  By giving our scholars a choice in how they learn and a voice in what they learn, we are building the foundation of critical thinkers that is needed in the best colleges and the 21st Century workplace.

  • JUNE Update

    Happy June, BLES families! Can you believe it? The last day of school is almost here! Now it is time to celebrate and  recognize all of our scholars’ hard work and progress! We do this through the Honor Society Induction ceremony, Grade-wide award ceremonies, stepping up ceremonies and our 5th grade commencement ceremony. We are so proud of the progress that each and every one of our scholars has made and we can’t wait to celebrate ALL of our scholars with all of you!

    As a reminder, we will not have our K-2 Success for All summer academic program this year, however Brooklyn United Music & Arts will have a summer program at BLES. If you are interested in registering your child, please reach out to Ms. David at Many BLES scholars will be at a Summer Rising site or they will be attending other summer programs throughout the city. If you need assistance finding a suitable program for your child(ren) this summer, please reach out to our school’s Parent Coordinator, Mr. Watson at

    We are in the midst of administering End of Year assessments. I’m sure that all of you would like to know how your children performed on the IReady and Acadience assessments. Please reach out to your child’s teacher as soon as possible to find out the best time to meet with them about this or to learn how & when this data will be shared with you. 

    Please keep these important dates in mind as you are planning:

    -June 6th- No school- Chancellor’s Conference Day/ Citywide Pivot to Remote Learning- (optional) Please have your child log on to Google Classroom from 9:00-9:25 to complete the task assigned by their teacher. 

    -June 7th- No school- Clerical Day 

    -June 10th- Grade 1 End of Year Awards

    -June 11th- Grade 2 End of Year Awards

    -June 12th- Grade 3 End of Year Awards

    -June 13th- Grade 4 End of Year Awards 

    -June 14th- Dads & Donuts (Happy Father’s Day)

    -June 17th- No school- Eid-Al-Adha

    -June 18th- Kindergarten Stepping Up Ceremony 9 am

    -June 19th- No school- Juneteenth

    -June 20th- 3K Stepping Up/ PTA Election meeting 5:30

    -June 21st- 5th grade graduation 9 am

    -June 24th- PreK Stepping Up 9 am

    -June 25th- Dance Festival & Carnival - 8:30-2:00

    -June 26th- Last Day of School- Bubble Farewell

    Thank you families for your unwavering support throughout the 23-24 school year. We couldn’t have made it through this year as successfully as we did without you!
